McNabb Community Centre and Park, 180 Percy Street, Ottawa Ontario
Ottawa AA Welcomes You!
Canada is celebrating 150 years on July 1, 2017 and Alcoholics Anonymous in Ottawa will be there hosting our second annual Canadathon!
The Canadathon is an Alcoholics Anonymous event with Al-Anon participation held July 1 at McNabb Community Centre and Park (180 Percy Street) from 1000 am to midnight. Our event is 7th tradition, and will happen rain or shine!
The purpose of the Canadathon is to provide a safe and sober environment for the new and still suffering alcoholic during national celebrations in Ottawa. It is also a time for our members to come together and celebrate our country and our recovery with meetings, food, activities and fellowship.
We are also pleased to announce two speakers in service to our fellowship from across Canada. Scott H. from British Columbia, the current Canadian Regional AA Trustee-at-Large, and Lynda B. from Quebec, a current director of AA Grapevine.
There will also be all-day discussion meetings in both French and English, outdoor games for children and adults, a BBQ and potluck, an ice cream social, live music and dance, plus fun and fellowship! (Please note: the outdoor BBQ and Ice Cream Social will have a nominal charge to help cover costs.)
